Today we started our first day of my ArtsBridge Project.

This week, working with Mrs. Dalton, I was able to choreograph a dance for their kindergarten Christmas Concert on Friday the 13th of December.

After choreographing the dance for these kindergarteners, today I went into their class and began to teach them the dance. It went really well.

We let them first listen to a bit of the song, and then i had them follow along with me through the first several counts of the dance. I then slowed it down and taught step by step as we went on. We would periodically go through certain parts that were more difficult until the students felt ore comfortable with it.

We were able to learn the whole dance today, but we only went through the whole thing once or twice.

I am going back on Thursday to review the dance with the kindergartners and go over certain parts of the dance that are a little more complicated.

All in all, i am feeling very confident in this project and am excited to see them perform it in their costumes and in front of their parents.
